Tri-Valley Two Wheelers - A Facebook group for Tri-Valley motorcyclists!

Hey folks- I've decided to start a Facebook group called Tri-Valley Two Wheelers for folks in the Tri-Valley area who are looking for a motorcycle group to do rides, bike shows, charity events, and meet-ups in the Tri-Valley area. Anyone is welcome, but our events will center on the Danville/San Ramon/Dublin/Pleasanton/Sunol/Livermore area.

Check us out on Facebook! We'll be cross-posting events and rides to BARF but wanted somewhere social that we Tri-Valley types could socialize.

Uh, what is wrong with the BARF for this very purpose?
ZuckerFace is not doing us any favors.

BARF is a very broad group with members from all around the Bay- I'm hoping that we'll wind up with a much more focused sub-group that can do more short-notice group rides in the Tri-Valley area and the like.

It's also harder to attract new folks to BARF than it is to a group on a platform they already use, unfortunately.

Yup.
We could stickie a Tri Valley thread. If the mods approve...
And yeah, I think I understand the SuckFace thing. Annoying though I might find it, I always try to do what I can to keep our moto community alive.

Do the Tri Valley FacerFolk care enough to do stuff about the future fo Carnegie, our local OHV parks? I hope so. I will try to support another attempt to reach other riders.

Thanks.

Hey, CORVA meeting, on line, tomorrow the 27th...
Mo shortly

That's my goal, Butch. Right now there's not really any group in the Tri-Valley, nor anywhere for them to communicate other than BARF and SBR- so having somewhere focused on the Tri-Valley may give some momentum to efforts to help places like Carnegie with fundraisers and organized action days.

It's just another avenue for communication to reach even more people, brother. These days you've got to reach people in the way they want to be reached, and most folks are on the Facebook.

I love teh BARFs, but I know more folks use the Faceblop than even the web these days, so you know the old marketing saying, "be where the eyeballs are" and all. ;) I'll be evangelizing BARF to the newbies there also, so it's a two way street.

Here's what will be the first group ride- a 7/4/2020 Mines over Mt. Hammy ride for Independence Day.

If I still lived in Pleasanton, I'm not sure that I would be willing to join Facebook to get involved in this group.

Way back around 2003 we had a weekly Pleasanton/Dublin/Livermore lunchtime ride going. One thread was enough to keep everybody informed until the group rides rules changed so that only one ride was allowed per thread. It was more difficult to keep the same people informed about those rides. They had to go check regularly instead of just getting notified. Nobody was willing to bend the forum rules for us.

I still think BARF would be a better way to let people know of these activities, if the rules could be bent for a few special cases to keep it all in one thread.
