Tonight at 10pm 2/1/07 National Geographic Channel is showing Crash Science...

"Crash Science: Motorcycles [TV-G]
Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 10P

Extreme competition...extraordinary engineering...and a death-defying need for speed. In the full-throttle, high-risk world of pro motorcycle racing, it's all about intense danger...kamikaze competitors and the incredible bikes they ride to glory. Still, without warning, deadly disaster can strike. The obsession for speed collides head on with the science of safety. For the world's top riders, racing up to 200 mph, one false move...or bike malfunction...can mean bone-crushing catastrophe."

I'm gonna be TiVo'ing it. :devil :toothless

it was okay. seemed like it was targeted for nonriders. it talked about a highside crash, and lowside and locking the back wheel when down shifting. I don't think much of it would be new to barfers, but it was still fun to watch.

I see it differently even though in hindsight it is something the all rider generally knows of, re-examining the basics, the science, and dynamic sequence of event leading to the crash I feel is worth more than just entertainment.

Like an old saying, "the more you know, the better it gets."

Pretty good show - it's being re-broadcast Saturday around 11. Good for new or non-riders, it does a good job explaining things in layman's terms.
