Tire Wear Question

This one has been hard to google mostly because I'm having trouble describing it properly. Here goes:

1. Looking at your tire from the side, imagine it is a pizza, and the tread is the crust.

2. On my tire, the equivalent of one slice has worn down to wear bars, the rest of the tire still has pretty deep tread.

3. This is the rear tire, and no uneven wear left to right.

Here is a crude visual. Section in red has very little tread left, section in green has plenty of tread.

Would it do this if it were poorly balanced?

It could do similar if you lock your rear brake and some flaw in your brake causes the lock at the same spot every time.

I’ve seen that on car tires when a tire delaminates. I can’t imagine u could ride a moto tire that had delaminated and not replace it right away.

Well, that's an odd one.

OP: Pix of the worn tread and also pix of the good tread next to it.

Could be a number of reasons, but if it's as I think it looks, I'd just replace and not look back.

Tires are elastic bodies and the tread depth may to be equal... I wore through a
spot on my MeZ1 while the other side was only down to the wear bars...
Your looking at the same tire...

At low-speeds, 10-15mph, do you feel a thump-thump-thump each time the worn spot rolls around?

That's interesting, I thought it was uniform all the way around.

I went ahead and got a new tire before I was able to take pictures. I'll see if the problem repeats on this one.
