Felt super low energy today but Whoop said high recovery so I met my friend for his recovery ride (he did 80km yesterday) and we banged out a leisurely 18 mile city loop.

I forgot that BARF has more smart people than every other forum I visit.
There is some very good information here spanning many different concepts and science backed ideas.
Perfect for people who are seeking knowledge and have the ability to glean information into applicable usefulness.

Mostly this all warms my heart to see people acting on wanting to be fit and healthy.
Good on ya folks!

The pandemic has thrown a lot of people for a loop.

Only the really committed have really maintained some semblance of fitness.

I successfully benched 52.5 per hand incline/flat but that's as heavy as my dumbbells go.

Do I realistically need to buy heavier ones or am I good sticking to 52.5?

Since I can’t work out until mid-January (due to surgery, see previous post) I am trying to determine my BMR. I’ve gained 13 lbs thanks to the ‘rona so I’m looking at dieting to lose a few pounds.

I did a little googling and found this:

https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/bmr-katch-mcardle

Using the calculator, my BMR is 1671 so I need my daily calories to be less than that :wtf I’ll give it a shot because my pants are goddamn tight :laughing

I went on two walks today so I’ll provide a report:

WORKOUT
Christmas

2.5-Mile Walk

FOOD

• 2 Persimmons
• 1/3 Roast Duck
• 2 Char Siu Bao
• Handful Cashews
• Handful Chocolate Raisins

is there a reason you couldn't do lower body workouts (it sounds like surgery was upper)? also, could i recommend that you increase your protons? typically after surgery, you want to eat sufficient calories and higher proton than normal. there's a series on it from a god in the strength/PT world if you're so inclined:

there's like 10 videos he put out on the topic beginning with this one (he blowed out his knee in a skiing accident):

Yeah, surg was upper. Doc said don’t do anything for 3 weeks or I’ll put strain on the area that was sliced open. Thanks for link.

Jumped on Zwift today and banged out 130km in three hours in B pace group. Normalized power for whole ride 229W. Felt pretty good. Some teammates were doing 200km ride today. Crazy bastard. Lol
