Time for a new seat and other things...

Hello,
I'm working on a few things for my bike and one those is a new seat. The Mean Streak doesn't really have much of a passenger seat and my wife's ass is complaining mightily. So, I'm off on an adventure to find a new seat. I've looked at a few and I have it narrowed down. I'm looking at the Corbin Dual Tour , the Mustang Vintage Sport Touring Seat with Driver Backrest and maybe the Saddlemen Tour Special. Of these, I'm sorta leaning towards the Mustang. It doesn't seem to disrupt the lines of the Mean Streak as much as the Corbin. I'm unsure of the Saddlemen as I'm unable to find a picture of it mounted on a Mean Streak. For the Mustang and the Saddlemen I would combine it with a short sissy bar of some kind. I did find something that looks pretty good Mapam Low Sissy Bar and Pad. Oh, there won't be ANY studs or fringe on anything, period.

I am just not used to seeing one for the driver. I assumed they will detatch??? A back pack on my sissy bar or the wife gives me the perfect support :teeth

I agree with the Budman... go for the Corbin. Not only it looks the best, once it's broken in...it sooooo comfy! :thumbup Besides, you can just ride to Hollister and have them customize the fit of the seat if you and/or wifey doesn't like how it feels...also a good excuse for a long ride. :teeth

BTW, check out their ostrich pattern...it's pretty ld-cool!

I was looking at that same seat not long ago, but it don't look like it's a very safe thing for the passenger to have something like a backrest in front of and behind them. If you ever had a get off, the passenger may get trapped and get dragged by the bike. I pray that never happens to anyone, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but at the same time, it is something that has to be taken into concideration. I have a Corbin Gunfighter seat with a backrest that came on my wide glide when I bought it. The previous owner had the sissy bar removed when the corbin was put on. I've since put the sissy bar and stock seat back on the bike, but I have rode the bike with the Corbin seat & backrest and the sissy bar in place, but wouldn't think of riding a passenger like that for the reason I stated earlier. I just don't think it's safe.

Yeah, the wife and I discussed how close those backrests were on the corbin and not to mention the price so I think the corbin is out. I like the looks of the Mustang and I found a very nice sissy bar made by an italian company just for the mean streak that looks real nice..

Here's a pic of my wide glide with the stock seat and sissy bar. It has plenty of padding so I don't have to hear any whining when we go on a long run.

here's one with the Corbin seat and backrest. Not much room between the backrest and the sissy bar for a passenger, and the padding is almost non existant.
