"i wanna go fast"
I had a speeding ticket on my way to the WSBK in Laguna Seca in the end of September. VC 22352(a). OK. It had a court date written on it 7weeks later on the second week of Nov. Nothing to be found online. I show up for the hearing, but the ticket had not been submitted yet. I get proof that i appeared from the clerk and go on my merry way.
I checked the first week of december last, nothing. I found a letter in the mail today, probably a few days old, saying that my ticket is due 1/21/14. Oh yeah, and its for VC 22349(a)! For max speed limit (65mph) instead. I assume by the date on the letter that it was sent right after new years or after. Tix submitted ~mid december. I understand CA one year to submit a ticket, but no notice or letter of any kind to say the court date was changed, when to pay, amounts something? I'm trying to use this alone as grounds for dismissal. Can i ask for this or should just give my plead and go on to actual court in a future date?
There was a correctable citation too for a "loose plate", so its says, VC 5201. We are talking about a mechanical engineer, track car builder, descendant of McGuiver that could have tightened the screw with his eyesight, but oh well. That got corrected at a DMV so no worries.
Good night all,
