In all fairness, sometimes we need to be called out for our bullshit. In this case, I believe the person called out truly is a troll and shouldn't be posting here period. Case in point, he started a thread in the KS that was a pretty good troll. One post and done. How is that being a part of the community? How is that anything but trolling?

And personally, what difference does it make whether the call-out happens in the thread title instead of within the thread itself? The latter happens all the time and is perfectly fine. The former seems to be frowned on for some reason. :wtf

It is a clear violation of the TOS. People get away with a lot on here. The rules are pretty clear. People whine all of the time that people should be suspended when somebody doesn't even violate the rules. This time it was a violation that you support, and all of a sudden the suspension is BS. :thumbdown

Because the guy is drowning out a lot of the normal discussion on the subforum. It was bad enough when he went into threads with mostly good discussion, and derailed them. Now he is spamming the subforum with blatantly biased, agenda pushing threads as well.

Yea, TOS is clear in this case, arguing that would be silly. The point is that the feelings that were expressed by the thread in question are by no means unique to augustiron.
The TOS specifically calls out baiting, trolling, indirect attacks, and 'other such activities that are not conducive to a positive and productive environment'. In my opinion, Schnell is at least borderline on a lot of those issues. though in the end that decision is down to mod discretion.

We're working on how to better deal with new (& established) members that display trolling tendencies.
The pile-on, dog-pile, attack dogs are also unacceptable. We need to deal with those too.

Here is my take.
We have a TOS that states you can't call out other members.
We have a TOS that states thatr members need to be respectful and not bait, troll, etc.
The first one is dealt with immediately and swiftly, and in this case, ridiculously comically.
The second one is completely ignored. It's one thing to have a heated debate. It's another thing to use BARF as your personal toilet, starting thread after thread, to spew your personal BS. And while that in and of itself isn't against the TOS, the way this particular person speaks is, straight up. He insults, demeans, deflects, refuses to stay on point or respond to real questions, and has a sole purpose of disrupting the flow of any thread he joins (or starts).
I have no problem with his politics. Hell, I enjoy the fact that we have Teg, Bronto, and other conservatives that are not afraid to speak their mind. I enjoy hearing their points. But this person (who I won't name because I'll likely be banned immediately) doesn't do any of that. He baits, he switches. He trolls, he continues.
At what point does the general good of BARF Trump (no pun intended) the absolutes of the TOS (which he has broken countless times)? Either get rid of the respectful part of the TOS and we can all start acting in a similar manner, or allow people ot smackdown those that can't be the slightest but respectful to others.
