At least that's what I read on the facetoobs. Be careful out there, last time I raced on a newly paved section it was slippery as hell.

It was T3 on the old (East) track. They repaved the inside and there wasn't any rubber down on it to start the day. There were 3-4 crashes there in the morning, but I haven't seen any crashes since the before lunch.

Yup, t3 east (old track) removed the bumps, but it's green as hell, and breaking up a bit. They had to sweep it this afternoon. I had a few wiggles , and a bit of rocks chucked at my face today, but nothing super crazy.

Take it easy in the morning, and bring a radiator guard...

I didn't think the bumps were bad at all in T3. From talking to people who rode with z2 today it sounds like they made it worse.

Oddly, they only tried to fix half of the bumps... The first two bumps comming into the turn are still very much there. The rest is smooth though, and once that asphalt settles/cures it should be just fine. Needs about a hundred cars over it too.

I was one of the people who lost it in turn 3. I was about mid track aiming for the new paved road then next thing I know my front end side steps then tucks. People were saying there was hella crap on that turn. They brought out the truck at lunch to clean it up. Too bad my day ended after my crash.

People were saying stay off the new paved part of the track and some we're saying stay on the old part. People were having issues with both parts at the start of the day.

You weren't the guy that caught on fire were you? That was one hell of a mess. The only thing you could sell off that bike was the left foot peg.

Wasn't me but I did talk to that guy. It was a Ducati I think a 2000 or 2002.. Forgot what model. He said the rear slipped out on turn 3 and then caught grip causing him to high side. He flew one way and the bike went ghost riding straight off the track. He said he doesn't think that year had a tip over sensor so it might have been running while it was down, which is why it caught on fire.

Not sure how many people crashed at that turn but there was a lot. Even one of the z2 instructors went down on that turn from what I heard.

Crazy day for sure. It always sucks to have a day ruined, and a bike smashed up. Hope you're doing alright.

Hopefully the races go smoother this weekend now that the corner has been worked a little.

Thanks. Doing good, a little sore and bruised but fine. My lowside wasn't bad but what pisses me off is I left my frame sliders on. I was debating on keeping them on or removing them.. People say use them on the track, some say don't. Well I had them on my bike already and guess what it flipped my bike when it went in the dirt. I might have been able to ride after lunch if I had no slider.. Who knows but the sliders caused more harm then good.

Hope the races this weekend go smooth as well. good luck to all who's racing. Also anyone selling an 08+ r6 tank? :p

My rule of thumb; sliders on the street for a parking lot drop, never on the track. Flipped my bike every freaking time.

Course, every crash has a different ending. You need a gas tank, and the other guy needs a spatula to scrape his Salvador Dali off the pavement.

Glad you're well, watch out for weird pains over the next few days.

Take it easy out there this weekend, racers.

It was pretty much fine today. Plenty of grip on the new pavement, that's where everyone stayed. After the cars lay some rubber down everywhere it will be good ol turn three again.

I was off the racing line about 2ft after having completed an outside pass going into T3 and it was still a little slick. The actual line was fine but any deviation from about an 18" track is still green.

You're right though. It should be fine after cars lay some rubber down.

When did this repaving actually occure? I was there on Monday and crashed, everyone complained about it being very slippy there and it claimed about 4 bikes that day.

It was repaved Thursday night. Apparently the track surface started coming up in huge chunks leaving potholes.
