thief killed

I read in the CC Times this morning that a 22 y.o. moto thief from Concord was killed yesterday on W Leland rd in pittsburg riding a stolen '03 Yamaha from Walnut Creek while running from the cops. I have to say I don't feel terribly bad about that since a) he was riding a stolen bike and b) running from the cops after c) flagrantly speeding on a city st and d) almost hit a pedestrian.
So, I wonder if that was the ass that stole my Ducati, which was recovered in concord, and anyone know whose bike he destroyed? If it belonged to anyone here I'm sorry to hear it and hope it was insured.
I checked online for the article but since it was only a brief mention it doesn't appear to be online.

They used to hand horse theives. Not a bad way of dealing with things in my book.

A scumbag thief is not any fellow of mine.

Did the article even say what he was accused of stealing? Most of the time you hear about people running, it's for the pettiest shit.

Yeah, he stole the bike. Just says it was a 2003 Yamaha, which had been reported stolen on the 29th of June from Walnut Creek. I think some of you guys are a little harsh, steal a bike = death? Granted I think there is Karma in this world, and what come around, goes around, but come on... we don't live in Iraq, where they cut off your hand for stealing loaves of bread.

No one condemned him to death. He apparently chose to steal the bike and he apparently chose to run. One thing is certain: he is dead and his family is left with that. I'm sorry for his family.

He made a series of choices that led to his demise, I didn't see anyone condeming him to death.

yeah I never said I was glad just that he was looking for trouble and found it in spades. if you are speeding down city streets, knock down a pedestrian running from the cops while on a stolen bike you are inviting your own death. I'm not glad, he was just an idiot looking for trouble.

Probably it was the same guy who stole the part fairing from my bike 2 weeks ago because I had really wished hard that Karma takes care of him.

Are you from Iraq? If not, it truly irks me when people throw out random examples from places they've never been.

A thief is not a 'fellow' anything to me. I don't steal...to say he got what he deserved is right on the money...not just for stealing the bike, but for putting himself in that exact dumbass position to find death...he was right on target. The statement has nothing to do with opinion in this case...it is just a simple fact...the thief upped the odds.
