And how people on both sides of the issue, seek to circumvent the laws, not understanding how we have an illegal employer issue as well as an illegal immigration problem, it really is all about cheap labor, and how children are used as pawns to further the cause.

Here ya go

I know there will be some major legal wrangling here which I can only spectate.

But my belief in improving lives is helping individual kids. I'm not a politician so I am not going to make widescale changes, but I can help one kid do better, then there is one less problem in 10 years.

Or you can be assholes and get rid of one girl.

I see the need to enforce residency requirements, and don't see the big deal whether it's a PI or district employee. In this case it seems pretty clear the girl should be at that school, and I hope they sue the district.

Zero is less than 4%

My point is, if she's really the only Hispanic, they wouldn't have said "less than 4%"

If the school has 100 kids it'd be 1%, if it has 200 kids it'd be 0.5%, and so on. That's a lot different than 4%.

She's exaggerating to make her point, IMO.

FTA: ""We have no idea. I think they are accustomed to a traditional household," Storch said. "Vivian's situation is not traditional, and it piques their interest. I don't play the race card lightly, but it's painfully obvious (her school is) all Caucasians."

Uh... she points out exactly why they might investigate (though it seems they did it in an absurdly ham-fisted manner), then goes ahead and plays that race card anyhow. Lame. But it sure was effective to get folks riled up, so maybe not so lame.

Yeah, it is a terrible story and it sure sounds like the kid should be allowed to attend the school. But it is a bit of a stretch to call it racism with no actual evidence whatsoever that it is so.

Does anyone know how often such investigations take place? Some seem to have the impression the school hired a PI to expel a minority. The more likely situation is that these are routinely investigated, and in most cases they end up acting on clear cut cases of fraud.

I wish every kid could be in a good school, but it isn't reality.

The mother told the investigator that she lived in Bay Point/

That's the end right there. If she had not said this, I doubt it would have happened.

Was it wrong? Probably. Was it understandable? Certainly.

Does seem odd though because the parent provided valid proof of residency that doesn't seem to be in question. My guess is the PI is an over zealous dick
