Trialcross

http://www.endurocross.com/

Interesting trivia: Trials bikes are not permitted to compete against the enduro bikes in Endurocross. We compared lap times between the Trialcross and the Endurocross at the Las Vegas (5/3) event. To be consistent we tracked 2 riders that competed in both the Trialcross on a trials bike and the Endurocross on an enduro bike.

You be the judge:

This friendly race between Ivan Cervantes (4x World Enduro Champion), Toni Bou (10x World Trials Champion), and Pol Tarrres (2x Juniior World Trials Champion) is quite revealing:

Bruno - thanks for the privilege of letting me ride your new Reflex... post a photo. Now that's a smart buy: street legal, beginner friendly, and wheelies at will. Just holler whenever you ride up there again and I'll be glad to join you.

Or just go out and buy a Gas Gas. On the other hand if you rode my TLR and I on your gas gas you would smoke me, it's not the bike. It would help; did a few more balances today will be doing them almost every day in cul d sac until neighbors complain.

Awesome on your purchase Bruno:thumbup I ride in my court all the time neighbors dont seem to mind yet, besides it pretty quiet and no where near as obnoxious as my 450. I hear Mammoth Bar has a nice trials area and a cool river to swim in and a nice moto x track as well...sounds like a meeting of the minds in the works. Join Sactopits if you havent already and join us at the trials events, good fun and easy enough on the sportsman lines to do.

Do you have any idea how much your legs (I was going to say thighs, but do not want you boys excited) ache after 1 brief introduction ride in parking lot?

this looks like a lot of fun, but I need a lot of practice b-4 riding with others. May need suspension upgrades, will begin looking (not buying until I get some time under belt)

Any thoughts on why turning the front wheel helps when balancing at a stand still? This trials stuff is challenging. quads, quads, quads

Not completely sure but I think when the front wheel is turned you have a wider front wheel patch therefore allowing easier balancing......I think. Do squats and lunges to strengthen those quads and hammys. Any pits members ridding club property this Saturday ? That place is awesome and river close by to swim in......totally worth the membership.

Electric Trials Bikes = Stealth

Red Bull said:
If you like the irony of a motorcycle maker named "Gas Gas" building an electric trials bike, then you may also appreciate video of said bike celebrating silence in Spain's Valle del Silencio (Valley of Silence). Adam Raga, multiple Indoor and Outdoor World Championship-winning trials bike rider, was recently given the opportunity to explore in and around the village of Peñalba de Santiago on the occasion of Día Internacional Contra el Ruido (International Day Against Noise) and took proper advantage of it.

The two-wheeled workout was Raga's first opportunity to try out an electric bike, but it probably won't be his last. The Spanish company who supplied the prototype would like to offer a version for sale as early as 2012. While he didn't speak specifically about the bike's performance, he did discuss the experience. According to Google Translate, Adam said something along the lines of:

The sensations you experience in this environment are very different to you when you ride in competitions or in training. You're not going to limit the enjoyment looking in nature and you recreate in what you do not only on the bike, but also the world around you. I think this is the way that technology should follow: Always try to seek coexistence with the environment.

Considering building your own? SACTOPITS write-up on his Electric trials bike project: http://www.lewisportusa.com/etb_writeup.pdf

Both GasGas and Kuberg offer full size electric versions:

Oset, Mecatecno, GasGas, Xispa, and Kuberg offer electric mini-bikes: http://electrictrials.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=78632ae2f55b2106d121d5bff7814f6a&#c2

Terry and I rode the jeep trails he led I trailed, no gps Terry had map, did not get to Downieville, ran out of water after landed on camel back, not my fault (rabbits running across trail had to save them) back to Bassets 5 hrs about 50m miles mostly dirt, rocks, fun . decided route as we went 93, butcher ranch, Buttes; hell fire I don’t know. Did drop down to Gold Lake. Only part of ride not really big bike friendly, even Terry had issue. Jeep roads do have a lot of rocks in places. Some challenges, Dead done deal gorgeous. Weather perfect, Ya shoudda been there.
