The end of the Ninja 300

Well as you remember the Hp is always higher before the public gets the bikes. Kawasaki claimed 44hp and 18.6. Turns out it was 36-38 hp and 16.9.

Keep reading. The displacement is being bumped to 350cc for this reason.

So is the RC390 going to be let in because it's a single?

with a class that the R3 (and possibly RC390) would be in, and the 250's below that, it seems like anyone who bought a 300 would have wasted a bunch of money...

Funny, the well dialed Ninja 250s still rule at AFM because they are cheaper to get to be fast since you can get them used for cheaper.

On paper, the KTM will win, but who is going to spend $10-12k to find out that Paul Johnson will still destroy you on his old 250?

That's absolutely true Jordan. The 300, 320 or 390 won't make a difference as long as average schmoes like me buy them. But as soon as someone of Johnson's caliber gets one ...

I already have a deposit at Scuderia West for the KTM RC390. 6th in line. I'll be "stepping down" from a 600. I'm hoping costs will be a bit cheaper...

Yeah, the racing looks really good in the lightweight classes. Top racers look pretty cut throat but there also seems to be a lot of opportunity for racing all the way through the pack. With the 600 I couldn't afford to do more then a couple of track days and only a few races a season. So I'm hoping with the RC390 I will be able to afford a lot more practice track time and compete a full season. And to be perfectly honest I'm pretty sure I'll have more fun on a slower bike.

While that bike sounds pretty cool you could triple your 600 for a lot less and have some great racing for a lot less.
