Is 900hp high output for a winnebago engine? I figure you need an awful lot of chutzpah to get those things around.

That interior ain't for me, but I bet the owner is super into it, and the work shows. That's cool.

LoLz. That is on the small side for a motorhome, first off, so no, it was never intended to have 900hp of thrust. Even a diesel pusher motorcoach isn't going to need anywhere near that... 450 to 600, most likely.

The OE motor in the thing above put out probably less than 200hp on a good day, tho it was really only meant to trundle along at 55 on a flat road.

Not as fast as I look.
What are the 1/4 mile numbers? Silly drag racing would be the only point. And I would have made it a wheelie funny-bago by moving the engine to the rear. It has a pizza oven, but no refrigerator? It has no real seating? Waste of 900 hp, in my opinion. Maybe I am just jealous that I can't piss away time and money on something totally useless like that.

Maybe, but I've wanted one of these since high school:]
Now that has some purpose to it. $300k in the seventies makes it about $1.4 mil, today. Whoops. Maybe price and my lack of helicopter skills will preclude me from buying one.

Oh yeah. From the article, they clocked it at 3.2 seconds 0-50 (I'm not sure why they didn't clock it to 60 as is the standard - maybe they got scared). It lifts the front end off the ground under acceleration.

That puts it firmly into sportscar territory. Catch a 911 or 'Vette napping at a stoplight and they'll be in for embarrassment.

Kind of curious about that myself.

No pictures of the engine or drive train? (at first glance I thought the rear might have been tubbed but it looks more like just duellies)
As far as the lack of engine pics (any?) You can't brag about the ponies without showing what's in the barn.
Poor form :thumbdown
