I had to go into Oakland CHP the other day for VIN/Motor# verification, made the appt more than a month ago so I'm glad it went OK. The officer that did the inspection was a nice guy, zero attitude and helpful. Got through it just fine and on the way out I asked if any of the motos in his division were on BARF. He smiled and said, "yeah a few". I asked him to thank them for their involvement in this forum and realized I've never thanks the others of you who also contribute.

So... Thanks! Although I may disagree with some of the stuff in here it is always informative and you all show a side of law enforcement us civies don't get to see very much. It's a tough job and I appreciate all you do out there.

I second the thought!

I know several officers and they are good people and they have a tough job.

Thanks for all you do!

I've learned a lot of good info from our Barf LEOs. This is a great resource and really appreciate the efforts from our Mods in maintaining order and the LEOs that contribute.

+1

We're really lucky to have our LEOs to answer questions.

I had one help me personally six years ago with my son and some school stuff that was going on (bullying and the SRO not being very helpful). I'm still very grateful .

Please be kind to our LEOs of BARF so they stick around. :)

Why not just go to the DMV? I had to do a VIN verification recently (bike was in San Leandro, we fucked up on the mileage) and went to the DMV office off Hegenberger and was in/out within 5 minutes. No appointment needed.

Usually the bikes are at the dealership when I do them so I go to the Concord DMV. I don't think I've ever sat out there for more than 10 minutes waiting to have one done. If it's busy the guys do a car drive test, get back do a VIN verification, do a dive test, do a VIN verification....

You don't have to wait long. The Walnut Creek DMV is a clusterfuck and not worth going to for them. Same goes for Pittsburg a lot of the time.
