Half Fast at best......
A very hearty THANK YOU to the CHP that "warned" some guy on a BMW RT along I-680 South at Lake Herman Rd around 6:30AM Friday. The guy on the RT had been scooting along near triple digits at times on the frontage road. As he came down the on ramp to 680 South a CHP cruiser came from the #1 lane, to the right hand shoulder rather quickly, waited for the RT to pass and then swooped back into the lane and trailed the nervous RT pilot for 1/4 mile. The cruiser then pulled back into the fast lane, pulled up next to the RT and gave him "the look" before accelerating back to his desired pace. Message received..... I'm betting that the poor schuck on the RT wants to say THANK YOU Officer!

Kudos also to CHP on N/B 51 in Sac last night. I saw a vehicle on my 6 about 1/2 mile back "sharking" traffic and trying to keep up with my cage at 2230 hrs.

When I got into a turn and lost visual contact, I accelerated, then merged into the #2 and dropped back.

I think he was trying to pace me.

The worse thing is, I may have distracted him from observing an impaired driver, which I calling in to CHP at the time and he overshot or was trying to get somewhere at that time. :dunno

I was talking on my cell phone cruising down 80 E talking to LESC and a CHP passed (looked like he was on the way somewhere), looked over his shoulder and saw me on my cell (not hands free), slow down to my side, I nodded a whats up...he just laughed and kept going.

My work car is unmarked and I doubt he knew it as well as he only had a short glance...i thought that was funny...and also glad he didn't pull me over which would have taken some time out of both our days.
