Lea goes to Slovakia
740 AM Friday 1.30.09

From the bottom of my heart, big "thanks" to the guy on the BMW motorcycle who was behind me and thanks a lot to the guy driving the Dent Wizard truck who stopped to check on how my crash was. It was smooth and uneventful.

I tried getting up but didn't realize i was still sliding so that was a little difficult. :squid i remember watching the bike slide on and on..... so surreal. good thing bikes don't have seat belts.

Its been a long time since i had seen the ground in short order but this was a good reminder to always have the riding gear on. = no body damage but a sore left shoulder.

Damage : home made sliders (made of UHMW plastic rods) did their job with zero bodywork damage and only a scraped left bar end. motorcycle didnt have oil pressure so i pulled it over in the dirt and burped the filter which worked and the FI light mysteriously vanished on its own.... made my commute to San Jose for work an additional 10 minutes but its Friday so its OK.

Apologies to those who were held up for a minute as i parted ways with my bike.

Again, thanks for stopping. I'll be sure to do the same for someone if i have the opportunity to do so. i wish you all safe riding and a great weekend.

John

haha....looking at girls walking on the freeway entrance:laughing:laughing:laughing

84 to hwy 101 southbound...i was doing maybe 45-50 on the gas and was taking the left curve when my rear tire washed out. i ride this way daily but i guess daily does not make me an expert even though i have been doing it each workday for the past 2 years.

for those without motorcycle sliders i would highly recommend getting them for the forks, frame and swing arm because all of those places made good contact today. time to jump on the lathe to make another set for replacement.

oh yeah, the bar end got scraped too but those are a dime a dozen as well. good time for me to make a set of barend sliders a swell.

i dont mind crashing every now and then and will try not to make a habit of it. too much of a good thing always turns bad.

Ya gotta really watch that 101/84 interchange. There are tons of rock and dirt trucks who use that interchange and they're always leaving gravel and dirt and fine silt all over the road surfaces. Always rider slower and more carefully than normal through that area.

Glad it worked out pretty much OK.

Rawr!
Was listening to the radio traffic report yesterday morning before I rode down to the South Bay. I believe at least 3 moto accidents were reported by 8:45 a.m. Figured one of them had to involve a BARFer.

Glad you and your bike are OK. :thumbup
