Textile vs Leathers...

V4

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
If you people had only one choice of riding gear, which would it be...? Leather or textile....

For me, an Aerostich is all I'd need for MY riding routine...just well suited ( no pun intended ) in easy on/off to wear, protection and overall comfort and quite handy with all the pockets....

Leather on the other hand is great, but just like many other textile suits on the market, you really do have to pay for what you get in quality/protection as well as comfort.....

Some leathers aren't as durable as some textile and with textile, you might have to spend more than leathers for quality and protection....

Some textile may offer great amount of protection, such as a Marsee, but too hot especially during the summer months....

there are just too many cheezy products out there nowadays that a consumer would wind up paying more on cheap riding gear to fix or replace in the long run than spending more money for a good suit at one time.....

Although having gear for all purpose is the best and one can't have enough to accomodate the environment and conditions....

I've always been into the whole riding naked thing. Really under rated.

If I could only pick one it would be textile. I have some seriously upgraded impact absorbing armor that I move around to different jackets and pants as I use them.

A lot of times the armor that comes in most textiles is garbage.

Most gear makers provide an upgrade or you can go to Johnson's Leather in S.F. and get the hardcore stuff.

If your going to have that stuff in there restricting your movement, it might as well be the good shit right?!

i'm a fan of leather if i'm riding any sort of distance, or going on a windy road ride.....cant beat the protection, and i love how my ass sticks to the seat best with my leather pants on.

if i'm just going a few miles down the road i'd prefiere textile as it is much more comfortable once you get off the bike.

currently...

It's textile gear.

Mostly because I'm too damn fat for leathers. :cry

I do like the First Gear Kilamanjaro and Vortex jackets tho.
And the summer mesh jacket was perfect this year.

If only one, textile for sure -- Aerostich. It's so versatile... I am going to try it out on a ski slope soon.

Textile - I currently have Joe Rocket with changeable armor, ( I put in Titanium armor, because you never know when you will go up against a tank!) (J/k)
