Tesla Rebounded

Tesla's stock rebounded from its dip after the media buzz about the fires. Today's earning report had good news that did not scare too many investors away.

Here is a link to a webcast of question and answer section to investors. Its interesting to hear real investors with a lot of money on the line ask questions directly to Musk.

Good luck to them. Starting a new car company in California is a amazing feet and so is all the awards they have gotten for the Model S, including best rated car of all time by Consumer Reports.

Here is Musk's response to the fire risk.

I'm shocked that a couple of fires didn't send the company into chapter 11...shocked.

I'd really like to see the company succeed but do the people buying the stock realize that it cars they make? They're not selling a cure for cancer.

Apparently, the right wing hate radio guys equate Tesla with the Democrats, and hate them too. I didn't realize making cars was so political. Of course, they make everything political, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

lotta chatter in the news recently about them possibly being acquired by apple.

On Bloomberg the other day they asked if people would be more interested in Apple with Elon Musk as CEO instead of Tim Cook. I thought "kinda silly question" and a second later I thought "yes I would be more interested".

I wonder how low APPL would fall if they bought Tesla

Let's see how they sell when the federal subsidy is removed...it's not political...right.

$7,500 US Federal Tax Credit
The US government offers a $7,500 federal tax credit with the purchase of a new Tesla acquired for personal use.

How much TARP freebie $$$ is factored in to each GM product?

makes little sense since - good ceo or not - tim is the master supply chain guy - and supply chain management is claimed to be the achilles heal of tesla.

won't ever happen.

musk has long terms plans that are way bigger than making iphones, and tablets.

tesla is his attempt at shaking up the automative industry to make it more environmentally friendly. he's mentioned he'll happily take a large loss on tesla if it jump starts the electric car industry so that it is competitive with gasoline powered cars.

space-x is his attempt at eventually landing people on mars. the first step is making money by sending payloads into orbit at a profit. these profits will then fund the larger goal of building a manned spaceship that can reach mars.

unless apple can further his long term goals it's not going to happen.

Master of supply chain management just doesn't conjure images of cool, which is whats been selling Apple's handful of consumer products.
They need a superstar or its flatlined from here on out.

totally get that. but whatever skills you have, given they are not everything needed - you either leverage what is available to you, or acquire the additional necessary resources. someone who understands supply chain may be more keen to this concept than others. steve must have thought so. he picked tim.
