They have a left over 2014 at East Bay Motorsports for 8k, a big discount. It's black, doesn't have gas rear shocks or abs but it's a beautiful bike. I was considering it before I got my NC700X Honda. It has nice reviews but was expensive so it didn't sell well.

Rolls with it...
Can't pose over 100.... but I'm not sure they're even bringing it to the US since they intro'd it in Cologne.

I've got my dad's 2014 in my garage right now. He got a pretty similar deal earlier this year. It's a bit small for me, but it's very much a Honda CB, and it very much feels like it has over four decades of refinement.

If that 2017 RS comes stateside you all can pretty much bet it's going to be over $12k Unless you all just have to have that pretty new seamless tank, it'd be a good idea to pick up one of these leftover 2014s and just add the suspension bits yourself.

Doesn't really care
How small is small? I'm 5"11 210lbs also, how far upright are these bikes? I don't think I want another wrist killer.

Very upright. My dad is 5'10" and he seems to think it's pretty perfect. I'm almost 6'4" with a 34" inseam and I think the seat to pegs situation is a bit tight. And we both agree that the seat is too narrow, but that will soon be changed with a Corbin.

My brother has a 2013. They're a bit weak with the power output.
He's digging it.

It's about 90hp, so in today's world where a sport bike with that kind of engine displacement can push out double that kind of power, yeah it's a bit of a yawn. But what's pretty neat about the CB's air cooled 1100 is there is a whole lot of midrange power. Hell, power everywhere. Whack it open at 2500rpm, and it pulls pretty well.

It's a muscle bike, not a sports bike. It's a pretty evolution of my old CB1000. If I had no bikes, I'd be interested.

I don't think its a muscle bike... it's air cooled.

Your '93/'94 CB1000 was based off the '92 CBR1000F liquid cooled motor.

Huh? Muscle bikes must be liquid cooled?

No. But it sure helps the engineers wring a lot more power out of an engine if it is. A 90hp 1100cc bike in this day and age is hardly what I'd call a "muscle" bike.

Hell even my 130hp 1250cc V-Rod Muscle is still hard to really call it that when you've got bikes like the Yamaha V-Max out there.

The CB1100 is simply a Standard. Universal Japanese Motorcycle if you want. This new CB1100RS is trying to blend a little Cafe Racer into the Standard bike, kinda like how the Triumph Thruxton is to the Bonneville.

thats a great looking bike. Should give the street twin or t120 a run for its money...

even though id most likely end up with the triumph t120 if were not factoring price

I really liked my Nighthawk 750; at almost 6' 1" it didn't feel too cramped.

Sold it to a buddy that still has it.
