Talbott Museum

Thanks for sharing. Next time I'm down there I'll have to visit.

I resonate with how Talbott caught the bug:
Eventually he acquired a “very used” Honda 50 step-through, which he remembers as “the most fun he’d ever had.”

I believe there was a nice write-up in City Bike not long ago, iirc.
Surj had access before they were officially open. Another entry on my ridiculously long *to-do* list.

I went there earlier this year. Definitely a hidden gem. It was the end destination for the Kenny Roberts charity ride from the Quail, and an excellent choice.

I recommend it if you are in the Monterey area.

Great place.

I've spoken to them about setting up a BARF Group ride. They would have a taco truck waiting for us and a slightly adjusted price for museum entry.

Finding the best date is the challenge.

Fall on the coast is a great time. I would lead a group over from the valley.

Wife and I went not long after they opened, on a weekday and got a private tour as no one was there. I am long overdue to go again.

My schedule is getting pretty packed between now and The first of the year, but if I was free I'd definitely join this ride. Thanks for orchestrating it, Enchanter. Hope it works. :thumbup

I came into Carmel Valley from the south on G16. Be advised it’s a bumpy, runty road in a lot of places, plus some tight turns in places.

Cool scenery though.

I did 101-25-Bitterwater-King/Meitz-Elm-G16-laurel grade-68-101......bout 250 miles. Bout 6 hours with a hour at Talbott.

:) June 2016 issue, pages 18-19.

Super nice folks, tons of amazing bikes ranging from oddballs to world class. Lots of good stories, too.

You can also visit the Jameson in Pacific Grove. They ask for a donation instead of the $20 for Talbott.

You think $20 is too much? You realize the money it cost to amass those bikes, right? And to set up that location? $20 isn't even two movie tickets.

I was there a couple weeks ago and had a great time. The layout is wonderful, I just wish it were double the size. I look forward to going back
