That old red Saab 900 was in great shape. I'd pay too much right now for one that clean. Missed out on a like new convertible with only 40k miles last year.

You respond to a wacko on the highway, you are trying to figure out what's going on and he suddenly bolts to run into the road...

would you have time to pull out the tazer???

Do you expect to use the tazer and have it out already?

or do you mean to use on the 2nd twin who swung on the chick-cop???

Depends on the call... if the call comes out as a wacko (or whatever term you'd like to use) then yes, I might already have it out.

If it comes out as peds on the freeway, which we get a lot of the time in San Jose, I might use verbal commands to get the ped under control. If that doesn't work, I'd have the taser out ready to go.

Ultimately, the goal is to prevent the ped from running out into traffic.

As for the one that hit the cop, yeah.... that would have been an automatic five second ride.

I for one (and I'm sure there are many, many others!) wish that more cops had more zappers and were allowed more discretion to use them as they see fit. I can't even tell you the number of times I've seen twin sisters randomly run in front of me on the freeway. Those Sweedish cops spent 10 mns telling us how it happens all the time.

:)laughing I did giggle when one of the euro cops asked if they were Irish or something. That's a 'merican style question.)
