SV650 owners. Need your input

This is for a 03 SV650 track project.
I had my forks seals done.
I just finished putting back the forks. I noticed that right side forks are slightly longer than the other side.
Is this normal? Or i did not put them back correctly.
Never work on SV before.
Thank you

The longer fork leg houses the axle pinch bolt. There is only one on that SV650. Other bike forks may have pinch bolts on both legs.

As long as the axle went in easily it’s normal.. If you had to force it that would be a clue.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the axle goes in without any issue. I just find odd, because on my R6 there's pinch bolt on each forks.
I just test ride the bike, so far so good.

Do i need a particular front stand for these? Or any front stand will do. I am currently using a triple stand. But i want something light and not bulky.
Thanks again.

Built to a price point. One less bolt and no tapping the bore.

You could make a shim to go on the high side for a bottom lift.
Tape or bolt it to the lift or it will go missing while shuffling stuff around.

I went for the triple pin lift for convenience, but I don't track and don't need to hump gear around outside the garage.

Seems to be fine but on a related note, if you ever cinch down your bike with tie downs and the forks are stuck - it just takes a good wack on the pinch bolt arm to loosen the fork leg. It's common on the first gen SVs - DAMHIK.

Hi everyone! I just happen to come across this thread and I saw from Finesse77's photo that he was using a Michelin brand. My brother Carl owns an 03' SV650 as well and he plans to buy a Pirelli from 4WheelOnline. I was wondering if we can get a feedback on which tire is better? Which tire has a longer lifespan based from your experience? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

There is no better. Just different.
