If this is your first appearance don't worry about it, all you have to do is plead not guilty and say you don't have a lawyer yet. The court will appoint you one if you don't make enough money, if you make too much money you're on your own for finding and paying for a lawyer. Many times a lawyer can get it dropped to a regular 1 point traffic ticket, you don't want the reckless to stay on your record, it's 2 points that stay for 7 years instead of only 3 like a normal ticket. Kind of like drunk driving without the alcohol.

Anyway, first appearance is nothing, you'll make more trips to the court before this is done. Good luck!!

I'd get a lawyer, & now. This can be a very expensive experience- insurance, a lawyer at some point afterall, lose your priveldge to drive for X months, etc.

I think the sooner you get the handled, the better- and yep, the lawyer can probably plead this down to an infraction if your record is otherwise in good shape.

Whattja do anyway?

I showed up to first appearence and the judge laughed because i didnt have a lawyer. He said i better get one, quick. I had reckless(no alcohol) plus speed contest. So laywer cost $1000.00,got speed contest dropped but reckless 2 point stayed on record, fine of $660.00 plus $200.00 for registering in 8 days community service. It was expensive plus impound fee of $220.00 and 1 night in jail. Also a reckless 2 point NO alcohol stays on record for 7 years but insurance and basisi of good driver only count the reckless for 3 years, so now 3 years later i have a clean record. And low insurance premium again
Good luck

Finding a lawyer, and the right one, is imperative!. Personally, I wouldn't walk into Superior Court without one...

Back when I worked at Oracle, Larry Ellison used to run into quite a bit of trouble while zooming through Belmont in his Ferrari. He apparently had some lawyer who knew all of the traffic court judges and prosecutors and got him out of just about everything (e.g. speed contest+reckless driving pleaded down to driving 44mph in a 30mph zone; result = traffic school). Not sure how you'd track down somebody like that, though...

Maybe Baptistro has some names?

Now stunting the twisties
she never rides that bike on public roads....its a stunt bike...basically we had a competition the next weekend and all the places we ride now are real small private parking lots and she needed a long stretch to practice a trick...cop caught her right in the middle of performing her trick on an old back road..

she told the cop her story and he let her keep the bike because he said she would need it for the competition cus he was gonna tow it...but still gave her ticket.

Reckless Driving is a 2 point offense and stays on your record for 7 years. As a misdameanor (not an infraction) It also can entail jail time and heavy, heavy fines. (if found guilty)
.
I would get an attorney ASAP. Have him put over your case as often as possible. (mine did for 7 months).
.
Prior to going to trial the judge beef'd mine down to a over 100mph (also a 2 point offense, but no jail time) as this is an infraction and can be tried by judge alone. (he also offered a $350 fine if I plead, which I did not) He did not have much appetite for taking a guy with a clean driving record to trial and empallening twelve jurors for a 1-2 day trial. So instead I went to trial the next day for a "over 100mph" with the chippie, my attorney and the judge.

Get a lawyer. If this is what you were doing

I don’t see how that is reckless driving. A good lawyer should be able to help you.

Reckless: Driving with wanten disregard for the safety of you or others around you.
.
.
Doesn't look reckless to me given this person is obviously a professional stuntperson.
