super bowl food

littlebeast

get it while it's easy
i LOVE grazing on snack food during the super bowl! so i’m bored with the same old thing - and looking for new ideas this year (and also some healthy options). what i’ve got so far is chicken lettuce cups, bruschetta, homemade hummus, green pea mash on toasts (english peas mashed up with garlic and herbs topped with shredded pecorino cheese), BLT cups (little chunks of bacon, lettuce and grape tomatoes in a small muffin sized cup made of shredded, baked parmesan cheese), and grilled herbed shrimp. oh - and some cheese and fig jam.

am looking for more ideas. what you got? and what’s on your menu?

I usually go with party size fruit and salad platter, biscuits with salami and cheese, chips, different kinds of dips for the chips, water, beer, soda, and sometimes BBQ or pizza :teeth

My dad came over for the playoffs and he’s on a diet so we had assorted vegetables, pickles, and olives along with beer and bourbon.

I’m going over to a friends house for the SB cuz mom and dad are out of town so I have no idea what we’ll be having. My friend is kinda cheep so it’ll probably be Tostitos chips and queso. :laughing

KHAAAAAN!
I've posted this before. Great for parties.

Use a slow cooker of course...

3 lbs of meatballs (chicken or beef) or Any kind of sausage you like would work too
1 large red bell pepper
1 large green bell pepper
1 Large carrot (I usually skip them though)
1 large white onion
1 can of chunky pineapples
1 bottle of sweet & sour sauce (La Choy...fuck everything else)

Chop up the peppers (remove seeds of course) and onion into large chunks.
Combine all the ingredients into the pot.
Pour Sweet & sour sauce on top.
Use the can from the chunky pineapple to add one can of water.

Cook on high for six hours. Stir every two hours.

Serve hot.

I see 4 lights!
Our family lives in different parts of the country and only one brother watches football. I don't watch but a few years ago I started calling him up and leave the phones on speaker with the TV tuned in so we can talk back and forth during the game.

Knackwurst with mustard, vita-maltz, sauerkraut, celery, baby carrots, a coffee, air fried shoestring potatos.

A ride out to Bodega before the game. If I start early, two rides to swap bikes.

How to I score a ticket to your house, LB? That menu sounds fantastic. :drool

I’m making a bowl of ceviche, a charcuterie platter and a platter of basil, mozzarella and tomato. Never been a wing fan, so there’ll be plenty for the rest of ya. :thumbup

Easy snackahe that'll for sure get eaten:

Sliced salami, use it to scoop up about 2 tsp cream cheese. Put half a pepperoncini in the middle. Roll it up, stick a toothpick in to hold it in place.

Ad lib with ingredients for fanciness (upgrade to Brie and prosciutto or something).

Fuck that, I'm coming to your house.

In all honesty, I have no interest in watching the superbulb this year. Two teams I couldn't give a shit about.

I've never watched the superbowl, not even 5 minutes of it. If the food was good I could probably manage to ignore it as it played in the background.
