Damn, I would not want a two-stroke even for free, but I do have a bunch of friends that would totally drool over that bike.

Your crazy bro, two strokes rule! lighter, faster, more dependable, easier cheaper maintenance and sound awesome. I know I know "different strokes for different folks" but seriously if it were'nt for the greenies two strokes would still dominate everything..........everything !!!!!!:twofinger

Yuppers. 4 strokes tend to get slightly better mileage, but on a dirt bike, who cares?

I love my little 2-smoker!

I am perfectly aware of all the benefits of riding a two stroke, especially for tight woods like I enjoy most. However every time I ride a twostroke I wish I was on a fourstroke.
It could be that I'm a pussy street rider that stated dirtriding late in life but I've ridden all sorts of 2strokes from 125/250 Japanese motocrossers to 250/300/380 KTM EXC' and were I tear it up loving life on a fourstroke I'm a frustrated stumbling helpless idiot looking for the worst place to stall and/or crash on a 2smoker.
Again, no thank you :)

Just for all the noobs that aren't aware that 2-stroke are essentially supercharged IC engines; or for those that insist that 4-strokes are superior: based on mechanical simplicity or cost to manufacture/maintain, and Horsepower/cc?

Think a 2-stroke can't lug at idle better than a 4-stroke - ride a trials bike.

If it wasn't for manufacturers shift to 4-strokes 10-years ago for emission compliance, engines like the EFI Ossa 280i would be much more common:

and for those that don't remember what a 2-stroke sounds like:

It's tough to beat the smooth tractable power of a 4T. I grew up on 2Ts and will always love 'em, but they really wear me out. At the end of a moto when my arms are pumping up and I'm using the hand controls less, it's much easier to maintain a faster pace on the 4T. The 2Ts will punish you into the ground if you try to go fast when you get tired. Or, if you have an obstacle right out of a corner, that 4T low end grunt is better than the risk of wheelspin from clutching up the 2T. There's no right answer here, but there are plenty of times where each performs better than the other and neither is universally better...but, both are awesome. :)

I never said 4strokes are superior. I just said I enjoy by far riding a 4stroke dirtbike much better.
Three rides ago I could not get a part in time to get the CRF running so I rode my buddies 250EXC and 380XC At Hollister. In places I used just absolutely love tearing it up on my "diesel" I was cursing the gods of motorcycling for inventing 2strokes :]
I mean it was better than siting at home but my enjoyment of riding was greatly diminished.
Just personal preference.

Haha, that's funny, poor kid. For what it's worth, I can start my 450 by hand (no, I don't have e-start).

Another vote for 2-strokes here. I've owned a YZ250, a couple of CR500s, a 550MXC, and still have a 300XC-W (best bike I've ever owned). I've owned a few nice 4-strokes, too, but I've always been faster on the 2-strokes. YMMV.

I went to one of the KTM ride days and was thoroughly impressed by the 250exc-w. The power was mostly down where it should be, it had the magic button, hydraulic clutch, and the suspension gobbled up all the chop like nobody's business. For a bone stock trail bike, it was the shizz, and notably better than my buddy's WR450. Though I'm a bit heavy for it, I really wanted to try to 200, but they didn't have that one on hand for some reason.
