Straight Outta Compton - Movie Review

"Insignificant Other"
So, I watched the movie last night at the 8pm show. I was surprised that the show was totally sold out. The funny part was that the line to get into the theater easily could have been a line to get into a Raiders game. I admit that I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't make us walk through a metal detector like the old days.

But, onto the movie, if you were a fan of NWA, you're definitely going to love this movie. I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a movie it was. A lot of it turned into sort of a sing along with everyone in the theater bobbing their heads to the beat. But, the move actually developed the characters well.

And, using Ice Cube's son to play him was genius. Almost everyone in the movie looked or sounded like the person they were playing with one exception. The groans in the theater were a sign that everyone agreed that they made a horrible choice with the guy who played Snoop Dogg.

4/5 BARF for me.

Thanks, I've been hearing about it for months and I definitely want to see it!

Now where did I leave my favorite LA Raiders shirt...? Oh yeah, Sweden.

Definitely more deserving of a sell-out show than all the ten thousand Marvel/DC Comics movies these days.

Heard good reviews this morning but I can wait for Netflix.

:laughing I imagine it would be hard casting someone to play Snoop

^^^It wasn't just the looks. It was the voice and mannerisms that the guy just didn't quite get right.

Yeah, like it's been black gang-bangers shootin' up the theaters.... :facepalm

NOW IS THE TIME TO CHANGE IT UP!! SIEZE THE DAY!

:teeth

Maybe if they would put a Foot Locker next to the concession stand we could get more equality in our Cinema shootings.

I'm not a fan of Rap, but I was at the theater (Century Cinema 16 on Shoreline in Mtn View) today to see Mission Impossible. There was long line of people to see this movie.

You guys must go to this theater, they now have the recliner seats and the BAR is now open!!!

Saw the flick, it was great and worth seeing. An entertaining biopic, kinda reminded me of blow in its pacing and story arch

Emphatically not a movie that portrays the police in a positive light in any way. They coulda called it fuck the police. Kinda wish they did

Great soundtrack, and I loved al the little cues to the samples a lot of dre's beats came from.

Go see it for sure
