Stolen R1 - North San Jose

Hey all,

My bike that was in the for sale thread was stolen around 6PM tonight. Gray 2007 R1 with Two Brothers exhaust, black Graves rearsets, Competition Werkes fender eliminator, and tinted Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen.

Police have been notified and vehicle entered as stolen. Male, around 5'9, wearing all black + black motorcycle helmet, walked up and broke the disc lock off with a hammer right in front of a resident, who immediately called police. Guy loaded the bike into a van and tore off.

If you see anything just call police, don't approach them :) don't need any of you getting hurt.

inb4 "disc locks don't do shit." I have a bigass chain I usually use... but didn't lock it up this time since I was planning on going somewhere tonight. My fault for being lazy.

Sorry to hear the bad news and hope they catch the perp.

So brazen - sun still up and witness(es) around. I can't imagine how I'd wrestle a locked 400+ pound bike into a van by myself.

Did they get the license plate , at least?

Make, model, any identifying Mark's on van? Check for neighborhood surveillance cams?

Unless the van or plate is stolen, it shouldn't be impossible to ID.

Unfortunately no. Witness was thoroughly freaked at that point and the adrenaline dump didn't help anything. No cameras in the area, either ...

What absolutely blows my FUCKING MIND is she called 911 and was talking to a dispatcher AS A FELONY WAS TAKING PLACE and they only sent a Community Service Officer... 2 hours later.

Glad to know SJPD takes these crimes so seriously.

I do believe that the bike pics are still up in the For Sale thread.

It also knocks me for a loop that the witness could call the authorities but not snap some pics. : | Doesn't damn near every smartphone these days incorporate a camera? :rolleyes

Man this is ballsy.
I wonder how hard is it to set up a bait bike to get them arrested.
I bet some Barfer's would be willing to donate things to make it happen.
I hope you get your bike back.
