UPDATE 9/16/19: My Kawasaki was recovered on 7/11/19 when the rider was pulled over for speeding. Long story short, the DA paid my impound fee after being stored for 9 days and racking up a $940 fee. Ignition, gas cap, and lock for seat all drilled out, but the bike runs after I installed a new battery. Waiting for a replacement license plate and reg sticker in the mail.

Yamaha still missing but paid out by Geico.

Walked out to mine and my wife's bikes this morning 5/1/19 at 0645am and they were gone. They are paving our apartment complex parking lot, so we had to park up the street. No record at tow companies, police report filed.

Here is the information:
2005 Kawasaki Z750S (liability only)
License plate#18D5164 VIN:JKAZRDK165A000543.
It has a carbon fiber exhaust, tinted windscreen, flush front turn signals, fender eliminator, frame sliders, integrated smoked tail light, and a Z-rated sticker on the swing arm.

2016 Yamaha FZ-07 (full coverage)
License plate#23E835
VIN: JYARM06Y1GA002946.
It has barkbusters handguards and an FZ-07 radiator guard, otherwise stock. Removed the Corbin seat, has stock now.

I'm sorry for the loss. Did you happen to have any security on them? Disk lock ? cable ? If I had to park down the street I'd have had them quadruple locked and covered. Preferrably chained to a pole or a tree.

Damn... I'm sorry to hear this... I hope you get them back!

Thank you. We're praying for a good outcome.

FZ had the handle bars locked. Unfortunately no disc or chains since the bikes were only gonna spend two nights on the street. My bike was covered; the thieves felt bad for me and left my cover on the ground...score!

That's awful. I live in the area and will be on the lookout.

Thanks man!

Update 7/18/19

FZ07 had full coverage so Geico paid us within a month of theft. Being our first dealing with insurance and bike theft, I'd rate Geico 10/10. We received a fair payout and communication with their adjusters was pleasantly and timely.

Today I received a letter from the SLO DA that, "criminal charges have been filed against Thomas Byron Westbrook IV" and that I'm a victim of a property crime. I'll call the DA's office tomorrow to get info on how to proceed. Stay tuned!

I updated the first post. Here's how the Kawi looks. Anyone know how to open a gas cap once it's drilled out? I tried turning with a flat head screwdriver but it won't turn. Will post a pic of the gas cap later.

I think the Z750S only has three screws with no hidden internal screw? You might just be able to take those out and be home free.

I tried that. Will search for the hidden screw tomorrow since it's dark out. Here is the hotwire he made to bypass the ignition.
