State of passes on I-5 north to Oregon?

Hoping to visit a buddy in medford in 2 weeks and would nuch rather ride than drive. Does anybody know how early those passes are navigable on 2 wheels? I know chains are required until the 29th of march so guessing mid april might still be too early?

Check out the Caltrans road conditions page. Right now there are no restrictions on I-5 in NorCal. And the traffic camera by Weed looks good.


Pay attention to the weather, and if it's favorable, go.

I was just up and down from Medford in the truck. All clear, but still a bit cold from Lake Shasta to Weed. Just check the forecast for Lake Shasta, Weed, and Medford before you head out.

Click on I-5 at Siskiyou Summit for the summit camera.
(highest point and most likely to snow/freeze)
It also gives current temp there.
