that one looks like it might of acctually hurt the thing
there was one on tv a while ago about a guy that ran exposed wires along his porch and when somthing jumped the 2 (a small animals foot) it would shock them.

It doesn't look that way if you know what he was launched with. It's a sling-type device used to launch clay pigeons. Clay pigeons are pretty fragile so there can't be an impact during launch. There's a write up HERE.
