Thinking about buying the "Spidi Slider Wind One-Piece Leather Suit" once i get back on the street in a month or so.... before i jump in for $1200 on this suit can anyone post up their opinions or better yet their experience and opinions?

looks like quality stuff, my one coworker recommended it highly but i'm just curious :nerd is there a better alternative for the same dough? i don't want to mess with alpinestars or joe rocket so leave that be.

THANKS EVERYBODY.

Hail Satan
if youre gonna spend that much $$$ on a suit do yourself a favor and go down to Scuderia and try on some Dainese & Vanson suits. Best off the rack stuff there is, locally. You could also try SF BMW for Kushitani.

I have the slider and the RS pro--the slider is definitely a better made suit than the RS1 Pro--crash tested 3X no issuses except for scuffing, RS1 crash tested once--same deal.

Personally, I think the Spidis are the best value out there--but Im NOT a big fan of Dainese---No particular reason--just seems that you get alot more bang for your buck with the Spidis

IMPORTANT---just make sure the suit fits well---all the Italian suits seem to be narrow in the shoulders---whereas Im NOT

I like the Spidi sliders--a single set usually lasts me 1/2 season--and Im not particularly gentle on them---the new bi-phase ones seem to last pretty long

IMO, I liked Spidi and chose their Viper suit. It fit me pretty good.
I think the leather's excellent quality. It's the thick rubbery kind, not the tough hard type like Vanson uses so it's more comfortable. Spidi also has the stretchy kevlar material in the crotch, underarms and leg area for additional comfort. I'm not sure if Dainese has that or if you can customize a suit with it.
Dainese is also very good quality, but their high end suits didn't come in the colors I wanted.
A custom suit would fit you the best though, and you can pick out your colors.
Perforated is a must though. Get that air circulating especially when riding in the summer.

uhh...did i say that? :shhh ;) at cost is still kinda expensive though. running close to the retail price after tax/ship from LP.

my dainese k 1pc does

my k suit kicks ass! :D i did buy mine from outside the US so that cut costs considerably (buying the same suit here woulda costed more than a spidi slider pro suit)
eh, my spidi survived a lowside at T10 at Thill.
i thought it was 11? :confused

Ive had 3 Dianese suits and if I didn't get them at a good price, I would never have gotten them....I don't think theyre worth the full retail price....

I agree that Spidi's worth the $$.....

Even at cost, Dianese are expensive.....

I pretty much like the Alpinestars though, but again, that's even at a good price.....if I had to pay retail, who knows....

No one mentioned Helimot. :)

off the rack, I'd choose Spidi or Alpinestars....

custom leathers, I'd choose Vansons......Helimots a nice guy and everything and I do like his stuff but for equal $$, I'd get a Vanson....I just like their stuff a bit more.....

Never a Kushitani though even at an off the rack price....

I have had both Dainese and Spidis and I will never go with Dainese again. My old dainese lasted me 1 crash and that was that. It'll cost me about $300 to repair them through helimot.

Being in the market for a new suit, I couldnt afford a custom suit at the time so I went with a $600 Hook one piece. So far so good, though luckily I havent had a chance to "test" them out. They're a bit tighter than the Dainese, but its got the armor and its perforated so Im happy with it.

IF I were spending $1200, I'd rather get a custom suit. Supposedly, Helimot suits are made to withstand 4-6 crashes. (according to the man himself)

Spidi is top quality ! I like mine and got it for just under $800. My only complaint is that I'm skinny but have wide shoulders so it's a bit tight through the chest
