Spare some change?

No, really - I’m out of quarters and my apartment building has a fucking coin laundry that only takes fucking quarters.

I called my credit union to see if they have any quarters and they said they didn’t.

WTF?

How is everyone else dealing with this problem? Yes, I know I should own my own home with its own washer and dryer, blah blah. And the landlady has said she’ll try to get the machines converted to some sort of card or online payment system.

In the meantime, does anyone know of a bank that *does* have quarters and is willing to sell them to non-customers? (I know for a fact that Citibank and HSBC are not, those fuckers.)

I’m seriously considering asking my mom in Maine to mail me some.

I have heard of this thing but not experienced it, and I usually use cash for any purchase less than $60.

I have rolls of them. I was going to turn in some of the change I have. For the last few years I have been keeping all my change. I rolled it up to use at stores but if you need to do laundry, I got you. I'm in SF.

You can find some pretty decent portable washing machines on Amazon. They're common in small apartments.

LOL I got about 3-5 dollars only

So I guess you gyuse haven't heard, it's been on the news once during the last month, that places are running out of change. But I forgot/don't know the reason

Maybe because of a lack of circulation

Last time I went to a laundromat (and it's been awhile), you loaded a card with credit, and used the cards in the machines.

Maybe a local laundromat works this way for you.

I have two in my pocket right now. You can have them for $2.00.

Just teasing; there have been stories online about a general shortage of coins in circulation.
