Big bummer and setback. Weren't they supposed to start ferrying astronauts back and forth next year? This has to impact that time table.

Yes, they have been testing their Dragon capsule and want to certify it for human travel. So far they have been running it up to the international space station and back with supplies. They did lose a Dragon capsule and a bunch of ISS supplies a while back.

I hope it doesn't impact their business too severely. Shooting stuff into space is cool, especially to those of us that grew up when the Space Shuttle was the latest and greatest.

I have a SpaceX t-shirt that I bought at Cape Canaveral and every time I wear it at least one person says that they hear SpaceX is a really tough high pressure job.

Of course it is, at SpaceX you work for Elon Musk with the goal of making money by launching rockets into space, nothing in that equation sounds easy or low key. :laughing

Call me a conspiracy theorist but, there is no fucking way an Israeli communications sattelite did NOT have some spying capabilities.* I really wonder if this is just an accident.


*politically correct footnote: the above statement is in no way meant to be disparaging towards the Jewish people or the state of Israel. In fact quite the opposite, I believe the Israeli intelligence agency and military have their shit together very very well. My suspicions are more based out of respect of their capabilities and the desire of other parties (our government perhaps?) to thwart them. /tinfoil hat
