:rip Officer Lucas Chellew

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. near Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road. Chellew was chasing suspect on eastbound Fruitridge Road when he crashed and lost control of his motorcycle.

Chellew was a 8-year veteran of the CHP and was assigned to the south Sacramento division. He leaves behind a wife, a daughter and a son.

Chellew came from a family of CHP officers: his father is a retired CHP captain and his sister is a CHP officer.
