Sonoma Monday 8/14

Is there shades? Or I need to bring my own canopy? It's gonna be hot in Dixon.

I would bring a canopy (well if I had one! lolz). From the photos I haven't see shade coverage. Jennie tells me there's a lake near by so that may have an effect on the local temperature.

I started a thread in the supermoto forum too once I found that they're allowed.

I have some factory made sliders that go through the axle. Haven't tested them that much though.

The through axel ones work better because they actually go into the axle. Much like how the bar ends fit into the bars. The bolt holding them to the bike doesn't take the force in a crash--the slider does. So they hold up better than a bolt into a solid axel. Even still I may have to employ the axel tapping solution, if I cannot come up with some better.

My Cobra has a hollow front axel so it will (eventually) get equipped with something like the through axel sliders.

Wow. I'm so use to 65°F being T-shirt weather here in SF I don't know if I could handle those inland temps! 107°F? Damn. No wonder Stockton was running a night race today.

Not that my bike is ready anyway. lolz

I wish they did more weekend days for moto... they used to probably once a month, it's hard for me to take time off to get up there. I'm on a motard though.

Yeah I did the ride the fifty over to the D-Store to watch the GP race thing.

Most of the race was pretty boring, but it got a little spicy near the end. :teeth

I haven't watched M2 yet! watched GP, and 3 so far. lolz

We should have gone for a ride. :ride I have multiple GPRs. I did end up going though upper market and twin peaks for a little fun. They just repaved much of twin peaks, and it's very nice. Lots of cars out there today though. :nchantr

I heard Dixon track was very nice. Next time when it's a little cooler I like to go. Pavement was smooth I was told.

Yeah it sounds like a very nice track. I've order what should be the remaining parts that I need for the Track bike. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I spoke with one of my Pocket bike buddies today. He went out to Dixon. He said it wasn't too hot out there, and when he was on the bike it was fine. They did bring a canopy though, and he said that was necessary.

He said that there's another moto day at Dixon on the 16th (Saturday). I have to check into it for more info, but he's planing on going again.

Yesterday's heat here in SF was brutal. I suppose some folks are better at dealing with the heat.
