SOLD
I am selling some of my BEST vintage audio.
This is a VERY nice Pioneer SX-1250. One of the BEST receivers made in the hayday of the late 70's and early 80's premium audio race to out do each other.
This unit was bought new by a good friend of mine, and used for many years. At some point, the right channel started to cut out, and this unit was set aside, and replaced with some plastic piece of mass production, low performing, CD playing YAWN audio. After years of fooling himself into thinking that he was going to get it repaired, I finally told him to give it to me, and I would treat it with the respect that it was due.
After years of correct storage, I finally found the right person to do this restoration, and drove the Pioneer 350 miles north into Oregon, and had it inspected for a full re-cap and restoration procedure. It was not cheap. But the good stuff seldom is.
6 weeks later, and a hefty cash payment to this Vintage Audio Restoration Wizard, I drove the 350 miles (each way) to retrieve this work of art.
I used it in my home for a couple weeks, then put it on loan at the local Motorsports facility (Humboldt Motorsports), to power the massive set of Altec Lansing Model 19 Voice of the Theater speakers that they use every day as background music in their showroom.
Everything works perfect, and it actually performs BETTER than the original specs for the new unit. This SX-1250 will give you a lifetime of audio happiness.
There are 2 small wood laminate chips. One on each side, at the center- bottom of the side panel. You can see them in the pics.
I have this Pioneer listed on Ebay, and locally on Craigslist, but I thought that I would give my BARF Family a chance to buy it too.
Barf price is $1600 with pickup in Eureka, CA. I will deliver to the Bay Area for an additional $100, because that's what the fuel will cost me.
Any questions, please contact me by text or a phone call (during daylight hours please) at 707-four nine nine-4907
Thanks for looking, and keep an eye out for more amazing audio gems.
