Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.

So, when my kid was 7 I got him this electric dirt bike. I wasnt interested in getting something cheap or poor quality. I ride motorcycles and I wanted him to have a real moto as well.

This is a Kuberg Trail-E electric motorcycle. I purchased this new in 2015 and it has been ridden pretty gently for about 3 years. My kid stopped riding it over two years ago as it has become too small.

About this moto, it is a full suspension bike with hydraulic disc brakes both front and rear. It has three electronically governed speed settings that control throttle response.

Yes it is powerful. It will do 25 miles an hour. It will wheelie in the most aggressive throttle setting.

The bike has fallen on its side a couple times but there really isn't any damage other than a couple scuff marks. Remember, it was an eight-year-old riding it in the dirt or on the grass at Golden Gate Park.

The tires have lots of life left and the brakes are like new. The batteries are in great condition and hold a charge for and easy 90min of your kids riding. For my kid it was longer because he would get tired.

There is no rust and it's been kept in my garage always. It hasn't been ridden through the mud. But it has ridden on dirt and some trails in Golden Gate Park. But mostly on the grass. Especially in Golden Gate Park on Sundays when it's closed off to traffic.

Great memories dammit!

This is such a cool bike and it was my sons first motorcycle that he could actually ride. I held on to it for two years too long only because of sentimental value.

If I had to make a guess, this bike has been used approximately 40 hours. Not much at all.

My son started riding this at about 7 years old and stopped riding it at around 10. The only reason he stopped was because his legs were getting too long to sit comfortably with his feet on the pegs.

I purchased this new for just over $1600 with extra batteries. ( the extra batteries have never been installed but they should be fine)

$600 for the most awesome moto gift for a young rider.

None perceptible. I recently dropped my car off at a shop in the Sunset for service. I used this bike to get myself home off of Monterey Blvd. The total trip was appx 3.5 mile of SF hills.

My top speed (according to a phone app) was 21mph. I weigh 180lbs. The battery indicated 50% left.

I'm sure I looked ridiculous riding this thing. Obviously I wasn't on the pegs but I did sit the entire ride.

Welcome to my world riding the Light Bee in the bike lanes, gotta find someway to overtake dem slow bicyclists. I get excited when I see other motorized bicycles in the bike lane so I can ride with them.

I got pulled over for speeding, and bunches of other shit in college, back in the day. 30 in a 25. Davis was a speed trap.
