Sold...Selling my 2005 R1200 GS with 45k miles in really beautiful condition with many extras available as options.
First the bike:
As stated, it's an '05 GS with just under 45k on the clock. The bike is in great condition with lotsa new and near new parts. It really looks great if I say so myself. I've just serviced the bike with new fluids and alternator belt along with a valve adjust. Cross-spoke wheels with nearly new tires. Braking Wave rotors with HH pads on the front. The final drive had all seals just replaced. New rear brake pads. The shocks have less than 10k miles, the bodywork about the same, the muffler is brand new as are the seats.
The bars are the aluminum GS Adventure bars with the crossbar (400 clams list price, I think). Kaoko throttle lock/cruise control (100 bucks). There are several Touratech and Wunderlich hard parts on the bike like the windshield mounts and brake switch guard. I'm sure you'll want to know how this all came together and I would be happy to tell you. I've got the bike on Craigs for $8324 or something like that. I'd be happy to sell it a BARFer in good standing for less than that.
For options:
BMW Vario Sidebags in excellent condition. These are worth about 500 bucks.
Touratech VP46 Tankbag with tank pannier bags. A coupla hunnert bucks here...
Old scratch and dent bodywork so you can keep your shiny new red bodywork looking like new. Probably worth a hunnert bucks or so.
A choice of black or silver engine protection bars. Another sawbuck.
I've got some other seats including a Bill Mayer custom if the red trimmed Adventure seats are not to your liking.
Beware: I love to talk about these bikes; I've had four of them. Of the fifty or so bikes I've had in my 55 years, R12GS's are by far my favorite bike. There is no other bike that can do as many things as well as a GS and I'm more than happy to fill you in on those things. I look forward to talkin' with you...
