Hi barfers,
Looking to sell my SV... it's on CL too so you might have seen it there. 12502 miles.
I bought a F800ST earlier this year, and more recently a truck. Don't want to juggle all these vehicles so the SV has to go. It's currently garaged and on a tender, I take it out once a week to keep gas flowing through the carb.
I am the second owner, previous owner (some older guy down in Belmont), did 2000 miles on it then parked it in his garage for the better part of... 18 years. I bought it Jan 2018, got new tires, fork seals, fluids all around and had the carbs cleaned by Adam @ City Cycle Werks. Eventually did some good upgrades, galfer steel lines front and rear, Sargent saddle, SW-Motech center stand... also a woodcraft clutch cover because the OE one is plastic and they all leak eventually.
The right fork seal has been pushing up a little bit of oil, but that might just be from me not riding it enough. There's a good chance that'll go away like fork weeps sometimes do. It got a chain and sprocket set recently (JT + DID gold :teeth) within the last 1000 miles, oil change @10.5 so you got another 1500 miles.
The rear plastics are a different color because the previous owner had a really heavy license plate frame... this combined with bumpy SF roads eventually lead to a plastic tab for a clip nut breaking on the plastics. Went on eBay and found the cleanest plastics I could and had them replaced. The bags are optional of course, this was my only vehicle for a bit so I needed the hauling capacity, the rack is a Renntec, good quality. You can fit a grocery bag in each side!
All in all, a very loved, old SV that's got a lot of miles left in it. Asking $2000 firm, looking to sell this bike relatively quickly. The bike has a clean title in my name and reg till Dec 2020. Free to show it this evening, Sat evening and maybe all of Sunday, the bike is in SF.
%1 to BARF of course
