Rolls with it...
Hope they go after the IOC next....

Did not know Lynch was leading the DOJ investigation prior to becoming AG.

isn't FIFA a lot bigger than the IOC?

People have said Sepp Blatter is the most powerful person in sports

What a relief. Everytime I heard a story about Blatter, it just felt hopelessly, eternally corrupt. We'll see about his replacement.

NFL no longer tax exempt.

Entire article: http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-04-28/nfl-will-end-its-tax-exempt-status-goodell-tells-team-owners

Excerpt
The National Football League’s central office will become a taxable entity, ending its tax-exempt status in a move with minimal financial effect and significant symbolic value.

Commissioner Roger Goodell informed team owners and members of the U.S. Congress of the decision in letters dated Tuesday, saying he was eliminating a “distraction.”

“Every dollar of income generated through television rights fees, licensing agreements, sponsorships, ticket sales, and other means is earned by the 32 clubs and is taxable there,” Goodell wrote. “This will remain the case even when the league office and Management Council file returns as taxable entities, and the change in filing status will make no material difference to our business.”

I am glad how only US had the balls to go after these crooks while the rest of the world just accepted this institutionalized bribery. :flag

Interesting how the US went after corruption in a sport unpopular in the US. Why not go after the corruption in sports at home? Perhaps the EU needs to bring the US college basketball corruption to light and arrest the heads of the NCAA?

soccer is the most played sport by kids in the US. "soccer mom" is in the dictionary.

Premier League matches are shown on NBC, Fox, and ESPN.

The World Cup is one of the highest viewed sporting events in the world.

Just because MLS can't hold a candle to NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL doesn't mean that soccer isn't popular. Not by a longshot.

Whether battered partners or complicit cohorts, would you really expect the European football/futbol/soccer leagues to do anything to rock the boat?
