So who's available this weekend?

Darkness!

Where's the kick starter?
Awright gents and ladies, I've got an '06 ZX6R (636) that could use some looking into. She's running fine from my limited knowledge but I would like her to be gone over by someone who knows something about these bikes.

It sounds to me like there is just a bit too much metal on metal contact coming from the motor. :dunno

Tryin to be proactive here.

It's not 'knocking sound, it seems more like the valves or something. Much 'lighter' in nature if that makes sense.

I know, cool story bro...sounds like an AAMCO commercial.

Anyhow, Shawn I know you gets busy but if you're available I would appreciate a call/text/PM.

Chad, you around this weekend and not booked up already?

Fair warning, I do have an eighty pound lap dog (least he wants to be be) he might lick you excessively or whip you with his waggy tail...:teeth

Sounds like it needs a valve adjustment, or the "automatic" cam-chain tensioner is about to adjust itself. Have the valves ever been adjusted? Or even checked? Sometimes a loose valve will make noise if it needs the gap adjusted.

The cam-chain tensioner "ramps-up" so to speak as it ratchet's up to each spot. Sometimes a simple rap w/a plastic mallet @ idle on the adjuster will "pop" it up to the next "slot" as it adjusts itself.

Just grasping at straws from your description...

Dave, that's pretty much what I think too. I just don't feel qualified to get into that myself. Ya know? I don't want to start taking stuff off/apart and then think, "Aw faargh! Where'd that tiny spring go and do I really need it (the answer is always yup, of course)?

Don't guess. Have it looked at by a pro.

Thanks alot Alan (I'm assuming that's your name). A wealth of helpful advice ya got there...:rolleyes Did you read all of my post? The proactive part? Or the part askin if either Shawn (Elskipador) or Chad (Ironbutt) had time this weekend?
