Yeah. I have to tell you that the last ten days I was there I was thinking "I gotta find time to go have that beer with Squidly". I really did.
But damn, it was utter kaos. Had to pack a damn pod, etc. etc. Bought a cheap minivan, so my girlfriend and our two cats drove 3,000 miles!! Made it in 3.5 days. Long drive.
I do regret that we didn't get to that beer!
EDIT: Living by Lake Johnson
(mutiquote fail)
Cool. Living out by Lake Johnson is nice.
West of you towards Asheboro is a range of hills with some really nice riding. Go exploring. I think you take 64 west, then start exploring roads off of there. Get a map and look it over. Doing this from memory.
You will HAVE to swear allegiance to a local university. It's in the blood down there. I will not talk to you ever again if you become a Tarheel fan. You think I'm kidding, but I'm fucking serious.
Char-grill. Hamburger Steak Sandwich Senior and a chocolate milkshake.
I don't care what anyone says, Lexington style barbecue is the best. Eastern style is good; don't get me wrong. Being in Raleigh most everything will be Eastern style. If you can find a good Lexington style barbecue place check it out.
I think it's become over-the-top yuppie, but a million years ago when I was there Greenshields made some damn good beer. It's a brew pub in downtown Raleigh.
Let's see......Durham is just like Oakland; only smaller.
Harry's guitar shop in Raleigh is pretty good. He usually has a good selection of nice acoustics.
If you're near a Krispy Kreme and the Hot Doughnuts Now sign is on, go inside and get one. I know there were some Krispy Kreme's out here, but California just doesn't get it
Go Wolfpack!!!
