So I had a tip over yesterday...

Darkness!

Where's the kick starter?
Yes, it was my own damn fault (rushing to back it out). Anyhow, checked for obvious damage and didn't see anything. I took it out for a test ride to make sure it's ok and something towards the rear of the bike is loose and clacking around. It feels as if the rear brake caliper is loose, is it supposed to be? I'm assuming it's not supposed to be but I obviously don't really know. Any advice? It also feels like something (maybe the rear disc rotor) keeps contacting somewhere each revolution. Again, I can't see any obvious sign that anything is bent off-kilter, what have you. I've checked the whole right side of the bike and the swingarm/brake assembly doesn't have a mark on it anywhere. :dunno

Photos could be useful for a partial diagnosis.

For a 100% true diagnosis someone with experience will need to look at it in person.

Rear caliper floats. Its not supposed to be loose, but its supposed to float. Sometimes you dont notice things till you look for them. Put it on a stand, visually inspect the rear end. Put it in gear and find out whats making that sound. Why do people ride their bikes to do safety checks, just to see if it crashes with them on it (Not that a tip over is really dangerous, I've just never understood this...)?

Thanks kgmoto, I did do just that, put it on the stand and checked the tire, rotor, swing arm play, etc. before I went for a test ride. I do know better than to just "give 'er a test spin". I'm a bicycle mechanic these days so I'm not totally clueless about basic naintenance
