So I can’t fully commit to an atv, UTV, or sidexside but I’m getting there

Any recommendations ?

Not looking at TRX, RZR but more along the lines of recreation, independent suspension, and no belt driven transmissions. Seen enough Polaris get stuck due to tranny failure

Atv's are awkward if you're not used to them. I'd get the utv/side-x-side. Where do you envision yourself using it? That may be the biggest factor in deciding.

Thank you! I usually go north in Nevada near Black Rock areas. More rocky terrains

Can Am Maverick X3 Turbo Hands down

Just went out in TWF's backyard, Lemmon Valley/Hungry Valley/Chickadee/Big Dog/Moon Rocks and as many trails we could discover last weekend on it. It plows through everything and soaks it all up with ease. I'm thoroughly surprised the abuse it was given and nothing broke.

Send him a message- he'll take you out on that thing and show you how those are meant to be driven.

If you're looking to go "budget" I've heard the Honda Pioneer line is pretty surprising for what you get vs. what you pay for. Don't know enough about them to know if they have a belt transmission or not.

Buddy of mine has one after previously owning a Commander. He takes it out almost every weekend and just recently got back from a week in Utah. No problems, major or minor, that I'm aware of.

I do Nevada a lot and I use an ATV. Exploring mines, ghost towns, blips on maps, out of the way places, not roads, sand, dunes, wide open spaces. If you're out there to go fast and climb boulders the SxS is probably the way to go. But the SxS just can't go where ATVs can. SxSs have their place, but most of them are pretty big. I'm not a fan of belts either, but my ATV is belt driven, and it has given me no problems, and I've crawled up some pretty rocky creekbeds and know I've heated it up. If you're set on a SxS, the Honda Pioneer is shaft drive and still somewhat narrow. It has been the most appealing to me. But I wouldn't shy away from a used Yamaha Rhino or Wolverine just because of a belt.

If I was in the market for a SxS, I really like the specs of the Yamaha YXZ- shifter tranny and a rear diff, but I have no personal experience with it. It's also hard to stomach $20k for something costing more than my daily driver. But hey- Muhrica? Good luck.

Thanks for the info, mang. The pioneer is my first choice but debating on the foreman as it’s a bit more versatile and easier to store.
