about a year ago I spent the night at my kid's house in antioch (off of A st, about 17th) and heard about 30rds of full auto less than a block away... oh lawd the sirens and POlice radio noise after THAT ! :laughing

I was at my gf's, I think on Monday night, shots and homicide the same night at the corner store about 5 houses down.
Lost count of how many shots.

Thanks for thread. It reminds me that I don't hear as much shooting anymore as I once did. I don't know, it might the Shotspotter tech or something discouraging perps. I will report if I hear any. I am up on the hill above Richmond and San Pablo and usually hear everything, all the way to the skeet shooting at the country club.

Just the recent ones...I can't track how many have occurred, or how many I've heard over the years.

07-21-14, shooting just across our park.

08-02-14, my neighbor (a guy I've known since he was about six) was shot three times. Lucky me, I got to be the first on scene. (He's recovering, but will likely always walk with a limp, shattered femur).

10-28-14, shooting just around the corner (less than a block away).

I heard the shots in each case.

Note: don't get involved with gangs, whether it is as a member or as a customer. Their "rules" are pretty harsh...

OTOH, because I (now) avoid those associations, I've never felt particularly threatened. Life in a city with other people, nothing more.

I'll start a weekly log and update from there.
