Shad hard saddlebags

Shad hard saddlebags owners, what is your experience with your Shad luggage?
Is installation easy? Like no modification to the mounting hardware?
Does the three point (3P) mounting system hold up in a parking lot bike drop, or will the 3 point plastic clipon break as soon as the saddlebag touches the ground? Do the plastic fade or discolor over time? Would you recommend Shad to others?
I have seen a friend's set of Shad 36 saddlebags on his Yamaha and they look good and feel thick enough to me, as in no soft plastic flopping.
I am considering a set of Shad 23 for my Kawi Z900.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

Can't speak to how well they hold up to 'oops' but I just put a set of SH36 cases on my wifes cruiser. The install is specific to each bike so YMMV, but it was pretty easy. Had to bore holes through plastic trim for the mount, but it was clearly laid out in the instructions and even came with a template to lay over the pieces and locate the holes to be cut.
They look to be very well built with good hardware and they feel solid when mounted.

IMO Shad are by far the best cases. Great looking too.

I used the 3P system on my S1000XR and it worked great. Super easy to use and really out of the way when not, so it doesn't totally ruin the looks on the bike.

I had the sh36 side cases and I think the sh46 top case, that fits 2 full size helmets in it.

Anyway I totaled my bike into a deer and lowsided pretty badly and the top case only got a few scratches on it. I was not using the side cases at the time.

I kept them for another bike but will probably get rid of them as I don't have any bikes now that the cases would work on.

Highly recommend!

Never late for work
Shad is a manufacturer for OEM factory saddlebags I believe. Based on everything positive I've read about them I'd believe it.

I have their 56X expandable top case on my bike and it's pretty legit. I don't use it often as I thought I would since I have a tank bag but it stood up to some heavy storms with no leakage and clips in very easily and securely.

When I had a BMW F800GT, the OEM BMW bags (that cost ~$950) were made by SHAD. I doubt they make the BMW bags and better/different than their normal ones.

thanks

Thank you for your inputs.
Now that you mention it, Shad's 3P design does remind me of the BMW design.
The shape of the SH36 half shell looks almost identical to my oilhead era BMW boxer panniers.

I had a few people who PM'd me.

Just sold them today to the first one who did. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply.
I want to put some on an old ('82) Honda and will need to make mounts. If I can't make it work, I didn't want to try and resell new ones. I'll find something, not in a hurry.
