I'm with Andy. If not, do you guys want to hang out with me on the deck to keep the music playing while everyone else piles into life rafts?

If it's going down (in the bad way), then I'm down to stay on deck... I'll bring my bass... Andy can bring his guitar... you can provide awesome beer!!

Though his delivery was great, Tim is the worst possible pick to start a troll thread. Why? Because more than anyone else, he respects the "budman's house" idea. He's a by-the-book, chain of command guy whose strength of character would never let him betray budman by releasing information budman wasn't ready to release. He wouldn't do it under torture.

I posted a link to budman's "I'm not selling BARF" thread. Soon thereafter it got binned. Why, is budman was afraid of being cast as a hypocrite? No, there was information in the thread that totally contradicts the mod behavior you're seeing in this thread." Budman had stated he had the support of the mod core to sell BARF if he chose to. Now the mods are up in arms because "he sold out?" Ah, no.

While we're on the subject of bud's "I'm not selling BARF" thread and before I forget that I'm thinking about people of strong character, in what universe will budman start a thread to say he's not going to do something and then do that very thing mere weeks later? Not. Gonna. Happen.

Tim "isn't answering PM's" from other mods? And they're begging him to respond publicly in the thread? Riiiiight. They all have his phone number. And while he was shitting himself over here, making it sound like he was going to take his marbles and go home, he was also posting about neat cars in the affordable car thread. Minutes later.

Tim's Admin title disappeared. I posted about that and then JTT responded with one of these :devil. I checked to see if I could add Tim to my ignore list, the most definitive way I know to test for whether someone is a mod or admin. The titles are just text and can be edited in or out. As far as I know, a user cannot place a mod or admin on ignore. I posted the clue, they said, "Fuck it, let's change Tim's status for now." For the next little while he gets a break from herding cats in CA.

I'll give them this, it's a well orchestrated prank.

You give me hope!!!!! :crossingfingerssmilie

Hopefully the most epic April fools joke in the history of the barfs. Do say it's a little too early for that to be the likely outcome :(

Never though my account would outlive BARF :laughing , sounds like that might just be the case though. Bud, if you did indeed sell, congrats. Doubt you NEEDED the money, but regardless, American dream shit right there so props :thumbup

No idea how i'll spend my online time now :(

Maybe they took my advice from the not-selling thread and the Mod crew bought out BARF as a group...

Would you fall for this on March 31? :laughing

I suppose, seems like an awful lot of prep to put in for a joke however :x
Just looked up the estimated worth of this website, it's not a little, but it definitely doesn't seem like a lot considering how much i'm sure bud's personally vested, emotionally anyways, in this community. Guess we'll see...

In other news, forgot about my 10 year anniversary :(

So has anyone noticed that Adam also just posted a (not dissimilar and equally cryptic) thread?
Basically, "bye, but I will still be here and Thanks for all the fish"......what the hell is going down here?

To Dennis and mods (and to make Tuximono happy)

LOL @ Vertical Scope. Everything they touch turns to shit. Full of ads, full of fake "bike reviews" to boost traffic. Oh and on Cycleforums, they even copied people's old threads and re-posted them to boost their counts so they can charge more for ads.

If this is what's going to happen, I would advise everyone to comb thru their posts and delete/edit ones that contain personal or controversial info. I don't trust a company like VS with anything regarding privacy.

BTW, not sure about "retirement caliber money"......Forums like this rarely sell for more than $50-100-200K depending on size.
