Seriously, Ducati?

The other day I put on a new right mirror on my '09 Multi (because the old mirror broke off, but that's another weird Ducati story). The new mirror came with a couple of those transparent stickers on the glass surface, with instructions about how to adjust the mirror and telling me that "objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear". I expected that they were typical easy-to-peel stickers, like those on sunglasses and other glass products, that adhere without glue. But this is a crazy Italian product, so of course not - they were freaking glued onto the glass, and when I pulled them off they left a nasty sticky layer of glue that was damn difficult to remove even with isopropyl alcohol.

WTF Ducati? The amazing technology of glue-less easy-peel stickers that even manufacturers of cheapo sunglasses use hasn't made it to a leading Italian motorcycle company yet?

I think it's against the law in Italy to make something as easy as adhesive-less cling stickers.

Back brake? Nah. Downshift baby! Bags on a Ducati? Not exactly a travelling bike.

Know what your problem is here? Your misusing them for the intended purpose. You need to acquire more motorcycles to fill in the gaps as soon as you can :teeth

pwned!

Goo Gone next time.

Razor blade will take that right off.

I dissolved it with isopropyl alcohol, but it was annoying. A simple 5-second peeling off turned into a mini project just as I had to leave for work.

Definitely not as annoying as a back brake that doesn't work, though! I heard that the trick for bleeding the rear brake caliper on the Multi is to take it off, turn it upside down, and then bleed it.

if you own ducatis you should be used to things being retardedly uncomplicated and taking ten times longer than any other bike.

Do people in Italy even ride Ducatis? Are they considered good bikes there? Expensive still or cheaper?

It's been too long since we've had a good Ducati bashing thread. Keep it up, guys.

It's been so long since I've owned one, that I can't even defend them anymore. My "newest" one was a 1998. Somebody start a KTM bashing thread so that I have a bike to defend. :laughing

Ducati's always elicit a love/hate response. The true Ducatisti see their bike's faults as endearing, others see them simply as faults.

The most memorable quote I've ever heard regarding a Ducati - 'I'd rather stab hot knives in my eyes, than own a Ducati'
