Scuderia PSA bikes not picked up from Service - Better get down there if you still want your bike

I was just at Scuderia today. They did me a solid on my repair that I had to go back and get re-repaired.

Their situation sounds a bit dire, and it feels like they might be closing up shop (Like permanently but hopefully only temporary) They are trying to get all the bikes done that have service scheduled. I felt extremely lucky to get in and out today with my bike. I actually hung around outside until they were done.

They mentioned that they have many bikes that have never been picked up from completed service. Looked like dozens of bikes actually. He mentioned that they've called and called but a lot of people never picked up their bikes or call them back.

I would suggest if you have a bike there that needs to get picked up that you do so immediately. If they close down you might never get your bike back and or have a hard time getting it back.

I'm reminded of a car dealer that closed suddenly back in the recession and they had many vehicles in for repair, with some being in the process of being worked on aka taken apart. People couldn't get their cars back for a long time and many hassles.

I hope for the best for all our small vendors and businesses.

So, if you have a bike that you left there, you might want to contact them to go get it.

Or they just don't want to be responsible for everyones stuff?

Agreed. Feeling responsible for making someone exist without her motorcycle is an icky feeling. Most shops are making the temporary decision to shut down to protect their customers and their team and because business has halted. My money's riding on their return.

Hello, I am the service and parts manager at Scuderia West. I want everyone to know we are working by appointment only during the Covid-19 pandemic and plan to re open early in May as of now for normal business. We are returning calls and emails remotely which may take longer than normal on our end, my apologizes in advance. We hope everyone stays safe!

Thanks for the clarification John, and thanks for making it happen today for me at the shop. I appreciate you guys hanging in there and working on our bikes in these trying times.

Seems like a good time to get a major service done from your local. Not riding anyway, they could probably use the business. If I needed valves checked or forks rebuilt I'd be calling my local/independent and trying to support them by appointment.
