Scoot runs the biggest fleet of shared scooters in the world. In San Francisco, we have hundreds of smartphone-activated, Vespa-style electric scooters available to thousands of members. We love helping people get around the city in a way that is faster, cheaper, more fun, and more environmentally friendly. And we like getting more San Franciscans onto two wheels. To keep our scooters running all over the city, we have a strong team of problem-solving mechanics. And we need another one.
As a mechanic at scoot, your work would involve:
Hunting maintenance issues all over the city on your own personalized scoot
Using an iPad running Scoot software to track and get more info on inspections and maintenance issues + communicate with HQ or other field technicians
Running fleet-wide upgrade campaigns to install the newest of many innovations for our existing fleet
Digging into bigger issues back in the shop, learning more about our advanced systems and electronic powertrain from our Lead Mechanic and Lead Vehicle Engineer
Contributing your own ideas and input to Scoot’s constantly evolving software and hardware
Interacting with riders on a daily basis
You will need:
To be passionate about Scoot and what we’re doing here
2+ years experience doing maintenance and repairs on scooters, motorcycles, and/or bicycles
Attention to detail and a focus on safety
Enjoy working as a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to learn quickly and a desire to understand how a smartphone-activated electric scooter actually works
Other information:
Tools will be provided. Must be available 40 hours a week. Work will be hourly during initial trial period, then salaried with stock options and benefits.
